A Call for Educational Change Leadership
Provides a new definition of leadership, discusses the responsibilities of leadership, and
offers some guidelines and suggestions.

Building Bridges: Family Mathematics Education and Support
Discusses a model used in the Improving Mathematics Education in Diverse
Classrooms project that extends Family Math activities by providing emotional support
to parents. The methods help parents understand the changes in mathematics education
and help them support their children's learning.

Building Supportive Classroom Communities
Contains two articles by teachers on the effects of using dyads in their classrooms.

Constructive Listening in the Classroom

This easy-to-read booklet contains practical, teacher-tested strategies for using the support structures of constructivist listening with students. Topics include the role of emotional release, getting started using dyads, and ideas for reinforcing the guidelines.

Getting at the Roots of the Achievement Gap: Creating Healing Communities to Eliminate Racism

This booklet describes how racism affects student achievement, why it has been so persistant in, and what schools can do to help students who have been the target of racism and promote student achievement. This booklet is available in Spanish as: Llegar a las RaÕces de la Brecha en el Nivel de Logro AcadZÿmico: La CreaciÑn de Comunidades Curativas Para Eliminar el Racismo.

If Not Now, When? If Not Us, Who: Raising Equity Issues in Educational Settings
A set of 18 short episodes that can be used to address equity issues.

Promoting Equity in Mathematics Education: Support for Teachers
A report on some of the effects on teachers of the Improving Mathematics Education in
Diverse Classrooms project. This was our first equity project.

Reflections on Educational Change Support Group
Contains a report from two teachers who have led support groups at their schools, a
discussion of the difference between support groups and psychotherapy, and guidelines
for conducting support groups.

Ripples of Hope: Building Relationships for Educational Change
A book explaining the principles and practices underlying an approach to educational
change that focuses on reflection, relationship building, and healing from emotional
hurts that impede our effectiveness as educators.

This booklet will increase your understanding of Jewish history, how anti-Jewish oppression (often referred to as antisemitism) operates, and what you can do about it.
